A Christmas gift for a lipstick lover vol.1

We all love some lipstick on our gorgeous lips, don't we. As a lipstick lover myself, I am looking forward to Christmas because of first: Christmas and 2nd: all those make up sets that allows you to try out products without paying for a full size and regretting buying it.

Ciaté Kiss Collective Mini Liquid Velvet Trio
From left Diva, Pin Up and Swoon

I've never tried any of the make up from Ciaté, but I gave it a go as these lipsticks claim to be matte. This is a cute little trio consists of three 2 ml liquid lipsticks in shade Diva (the red one), Swoon (nude one) and Pin Up (the pink/purple one) which is a new shade.

I personally like all three of them as they look good on. Shade Diva and swoon are classic staples; a nice red and a nude/pink shade which you can wear all year along. They become matte quite quick, but they still stay creamy.

The shade Pin Up which is a new shade looks like nice pink/mauve which you could pull off any time. But once I tried it on, I was surprised how dark it came out. This shade is such an autumn shade, it's kinda dark pink with hints of purple, I'd say it's very pretty on.

I love all three shades from this little trio, and so far don't have a favourite one, because I'm mixing up the shades every day. I never go with one shade 2 days in a row.

Overall I think this is a nice little trio of lipsticks to try, as I think they would suit anyone. You can get them at www.ciatelondon.com for £16 which I think it's a great value for money, as you can try more shades for the price of one!

MAKEUP REVOLUTION Ultra Base Corrector Palette

Hi guys,
just a quick post about this palette. I had my eyes on it for some time now and finally decided to get it.

I don't have many discolouration problems but sometimes my skin have an attitude towards me (meh). So I thought it will be quick and especially cheap fix for my skin.
I was excited to get this as I wanted it for a longer period of time but was quite disappointed by the performance of this palette. The colours are nice and they're creamy enough to blend easily, but the pigmentation isn't the best which results in weaker performance. I tried the green shade which cancels out the redness I had around my nose and on my forehead. I also used the pink shade to brighten my dark circles. It blends easily but doesn't cover much as my under eye area is pretty challenging to cover

I didn't try all shades yet, like the highlight one, as I think will do nicely in the autumn/winter time.

I personally think this is an okay palette especially for £6 as you can't go wrong wih a price tag like this! ;-)

Tuesday's make up look

Hey guys!

Today's quick post is about my autumn quick natural look which I managed just in couple of minutes.

To begin with, I prepared my face with moisturiser and primer and then I used Gosh Foundation Drops in shade 002. I really like this foundation cause it gives my skin natural and even look without being too heavy. It has a watery consistency which I like as my I have oily skin.

Then I used my NYX HD concealer in shade fair; this conceals my dark circles and brightens the look as it's quite pale which I like. It blends easily because of its creamy texture and doesn't set in my lines which is a big plus.

For the eyebrow I used Anastasia Beverly Hills Dipbrow Pomade in shade Auburn as it's a warm shade which fits my ginger hair and it stays on for ages. Loving it!

I used Stila Stay All Day Waterproof Liquid Eyeliner in black and winged that eye!  I didn't use any primer because this eyeliner is the best- doesn't smudge and stays all day even though my eyelids are super oily. Another staple of mine. I finished my eyes using Maybelline Lash Sensational Lash Multiplying Mascara, which I got only recently but so far liking it a lot! I didn't expect it to be this good, it gives me volume and doesn't smudge. I was a bit sceptical about it because the last Maybelline mascara I used made me look like a panda.

I finished my look using Sleek Face Contour Kit in light. I swirled brush in the contour/bronze shade and lightly contoured my cheeks and temples to give my already pale face some colour. Then I took the highlight shade (which I love btw) and brought it on top of my cheekbones to give myself that glowy look that looks amazing in this season.

I didn't use lipstick or any colour as I was going for a meal and i wouldn't enjoy having lippie on my lips. So I used a lip balm and headed out of the house as I was starving (but I always do lol).

I hope you liked my post and if you do, keep coming for more!

CONCEALER OBSESSION

Hi guys!

So you may no know but I am a huge concealer addict. As I am looking at my pile there I thought I have more concealer/correctors but I finished at number 9, and some of them I run out and didn't have a chance to re-purchase others and usually they're out of stock, like well known Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer. Duh.

I have 9 concealers some in 2 shades, just in case, and the price was good so I was like, just buy it!
Then I have 1 foundation, but I use it as concealer, as it has full coverage and it's just brilliant.

It's Dermacol Make-up cover, and guys, I am not kidding, this thing covers everything. It has Full coverage-or as they say on their website an extreme coverage, it has SPF 30, and you need a tiniest bit to work with. I will post full review later on, as it's worth mentioning on it's own.

No 1: Benefit Erase Paste in shade No.1 Fair
This concealer, brightener, is okay, I guess. As you can see I used a lot of it, and I usually use it a first, and then I use one of the other concealers on top and then set it with some powder. For me, I think it's just too pink, and yes it does brighten my eyes, but I don't think it does cover in full as everyone raves about it.

The black concealer is Gosh Click'N Conceal Anti- Redness concealer, and I use it on my cheeks when I have some redness or discolourations. The only thing I hate that I broke it the day I bought it, the click button doesn't work properly. Otherwise, it's a very good, creamy, not hard to work with concealer and does it's job.

<<< Here's 2 of Stila Perfecting Concealer, I
have 2 shades- shade a and b. One of them is more cool-toned- pinky one, and other one is more warm- yellow-toned concealer, and they are very very creamy concealers, and they do cover pretty good and they don't crease, which is a big plus for me and my dark circles.

>>> On the right, there's Soap & Glory's Kick Ass Concealer in shade Light, it has 2 colours, one is                       pinky, for under eyes and other one is more yellow for spots and blemishes. It comes with a setting powder, and I hit a pan, as I love this concealer, the texture is amazing and it lasts a long time when applied.

Another Soap & Glory Kick Ass Blur & Lighten Concealer is kind of meh concealer, I use it on the go, just because it's in stick and it's easy to apply. It's good for touch ups and it blends easily so I can't ask for more.

Wild About Beauty Smooth Cover Concealer Kit (the one with 2 shades)is probably my 2nd favourite concealer, why? Because it's creamy, blends easily, the colour is a perfect match and I'm a pale person. Another thing is the coverage, oh my, this is a dream. It also comes with a setting powder, and it turns skin into a dream, guys, I don't know what is in the powder, but I want to use it for a whole face, that's how good it is.

Last 2 are by Maybelline- Age Rewind The Erase Eye and Eraser Dark Circles Concealer treatment, well we all know how good the first one is. I'm running out of it. I go through this like it's nobody's business.
I didn't try the concealer treatment so I will update this once I will try it. I do have high hopes for this, as it's lighter and I hope it will be just as good.

So here you go, I hope you like this post, and hope that you'll be coming for more.

JULY FAVOURITES

Hi everyone,
What a beautiful rainy August day here in Manchester, right?
I decided to start over on my blog as I have more time to do what I want, so let's get started! I have lots of favourites this month, as I tried some new things and some old loves of mine. This will be a long post (sorry in advance) but I hope you'll  enjoy it. Here's my July favourites.

BEAUTY

Just a heads up, I am a little bit obsessed with eyebrows and concealers, as these 2 are the issues of mine. I literally do not have eyebrows, no kidding! Well, I am exaggerating, but they are very very light, and I am always looking for something that makes them better. This month, I went for quite natural/light eyebrows, and I loved Purminerals Universal Pencil in Golden Bronze for defining my eyebrows an arch and used spoolie on the other end to brush through. Then I used L'Oreal Brow Artist Plumper in shade light/medium so it would not move. The brush applicator is so good and is perfect for managing your brows.

As for concealer, I do not have one but 2 favourites, as I am struggling with dark, dark circles. Maybelline Instant Anti-Age Eraser in shade light is my to go concealer, I ordered one in lighter shade and I am looking forward to try it, as this shade will be too dark for me through the coming cold months. I blend this concealer with brush or a beauty blender, and move on on stage two. I use Wild About Beauty Concealer in shade 01 fair- it is a creamy concealer with 2 shades, darker and a lighter one, I use darker one now blend it in so my circles disappear and then set it with the powder it's coming with. The powder! Oh the powder, it is so so soooo soft, I don't know what it is, or how it works, but its amazingly soft and stays put for ever!

Moving on, I will try not blabber about the next products so much. At least I have 2 ideas for  my new blog posts.

I don't have a foundation favourite, as I have been going from one to another, and I couldn't pick one.

My favourite mascara costs £3! And I totally love it, thanks to TalkBeckyTalk. It is 2truePro WOW! Volume Mascara- it's black, the brush has a good size and gives me volume and definition.

I had more favourites for eyeshadows-  Rimmel Scandaleyes Eye Shadow Stick in 011 Bluffing and Eye Shadow Paint in 004 Peachy Apricot. What was I doing the whole time they've been out? They're wonderful and stay on all day! You have to act quick with the paint though, that stuff dries fast!
Revolution makeup does get more and more of my attention, and I am totally in love with their Ultra Professional Eyesadow Flawless Matte. They're matte, blend easily, stay on, and did I mention? they're all matte!

For lips I mostly used Ren Vita Mineral Lip Balm, as I could not be bothered with bold lips this month. The lip balm, is very nice, stays on for a long time and makes my lips smooth, what else you need! Maybe a lip colour, and for that and for blush I used Stila Convertible Color Dual Lip and Cheek Cream in shade Peony- it's a beautiful shade, natural, pinky and looks so good as lip colour, it is the best nude I used. And I don't wear nudes because I look like I'm about to drop dead! LOL

SKINCARE/BODY/HAIR

In June, I got a few skincare things and I love them. First is Ren Rosa Centifolia Express Make-up Remover, guys this is the best eye makeup remover ever! Well, at least for me. I hate then I remove makeup and even if I wash my face I wake up in the morning with black smears under my eyes. This stuff doesn't do that! YAY! I obviously finish removing the rest of my makeup with micellar water, but I didn't have anything special to talk about. Serozinc by La Roche-Posay is another favourite of mine. I didn't use it for quite some time, and started again in July, and it helped my skin so much. Why I stopped using it in the first place?

After Serozinc, I usually go for a face serum, and this month, well couple of months now, my favourite is Clinique smart custom-repair serum. I noticed that when I didn't use it for couple of days my skin became dull, and imperfections came along.

As for my moisturiser, I adored In Transit Camera Close-Up by thisworks. It is mask, moisturiser and primer in one, and it truly is, I don't use primer at all and my makeup stays. I will be getting a full size of that when I'll run out. Back to my dark circles, but real quick, I promise. For under-eye area I used Benefit's Puff Off!, I need to use it more regularly as I am lazy with that part of my face, and I know I shouldn't be.

I know it's strange to put anti-perspirant in faves, but I usually use different one. This month, I started to use Dove's Maximum Protection 48 h anti-perspirant deodorant cream in original clean, and the smell gets me every time I move, I usually use unscented deodorants, as I don't like mixing the smell of that with the perfume. I like this scent though, it's got something I can't describe. One day, I kid you not, I was at work and I tried to figure out what smells so good on me, I smelled my hair, clothes and couldn't get it. What a mess am I, right?

Vaseline Spray & Go in aloe fresh is the top product for this month, and I hate moisturising my body. Honestly, I hate waiting for it to dry so I could put clothes on. With this, I just spray on, blend in and I'm ready to go!

My hair are a mess, as I am colouring them I need a protecting and de-tangling product in one, and the one for this month is by Philip Kingsley and it's the Daily Damage Defence- I love the smell, I love what it's doing to my hair, and combing through is so easy and effortless!

I wanted to put a picture of my favourite scent which is discounted for couple of years, but my laptop refused to co-op, so I'll just mention it. It's Avon's JET FEMME EDT, and guys, this is the best smelling perfume. I bought it off Ebay just to have it. Silly right? But I regret not stocking up, now I've left with half a bottle. Hurts so much!

Anyway, that is all from my favourites, and I hope you enjoyed my very very long post. Sorry, I will try to make t shorter, I just felt like these items needed mentioning.

With love

Petra

ELLE Insider

Secret eyeliner- The review :)

Benefit Cosmetics They're real! Push-up liner

Hello everyone!

Today, I would like to talk about the eyeliner that I received recently. I subscribed to ELLE over a year ago, and I have never been lucky to win or to be a part of something new. This has been a pleasant surprise, as my luck is 'brilliant'(duh)!

So,I received this eyeliner about three weeks ago, and I have been using it since. I was surprised that it doesn't have a name on it, but Elle wants us to have free opinion about this liner. Elle says:'It's such a secret, we still can't tell you who the brand is.' So, I don't know if it's a hight street/drugstore or high end liner.

'This is no regular eyeliner. It's been in development for over five years, and it's the first ever lash hugging gel liner pen with a patented AccuFlex tip, specifically designed to make applying gel liner easier.'

This liner was a surprise for me, especially because it's a gel liner, which usually comes in a pot and applying with a brush (but we all know that). My first reaction was really positive, because I love eye liners, especially black ones. This is a beautiful pure black liner, with a semi-matte finish (which I love!)and I have learned to use the AccuFlex tip almost immediately!
Patented AccuFlex tip

The application was pretty easy, despite the fact that I was a bit sceptic that the liner is empty! I had to twist the base with gel plenty of times until it came out. I went straight to the mirror and applied it. It was a bit tricky, because you have to have a steady hand to do it.

I have two tips for the application:

1. Don't twist the base too many times, do it only once at a time, you'll prevent destroying your line.
2. When applying, I start in the middle of the eyelid to outer corner. Then I drag the liner from inner corner of the eye out, and make a (not every time perfect)wink up! ;-)

I had 2 major tests, with a primer and without a primer.

With a primer, it works perfectly. Not a smudge, the liner stays on all day and I was pleasantly surprised that it lasted so long.
Without a primer, it's another story. Unfortunately, I found the liner really transferring without a primer. My eyelids are pretty hooded and oily so there's always a chance that it won't work perfectly. In this case I really wanted for this liner to work. It was pretty bad after a few hours, so I definitely know that it's not waterproof :-( .

If I should compare this secret liner to my current one( Stila stay all day waterproof liquid eye liner), there's only one thing. It's not waterproof, but despite that fact I still love it.

The thing that bugs me the most is that I don't know the brand. I have a few tips like Benefit Cosmetics, L'Oreal and maybe Rimmel. I'm really rubbish at guessing, so I definitely know that my guesses are wrong(nothing new here).

I'm really looking forward for Elle to reveal the brand. Please, please do it as soon as possible!

With love,

Petra xxx

P.S. Here's some pics of the liner, and other photos I made.

Black, and not smudgy. :)
One with, the other without.

Not the wink master, but ... :)

;-)

P.S. The other day, a BENEFIT COSMETICS UK, tweeted me that it's them! I'm so happy I got it right!

Welcome!

I am new here so I hope everything goes the right way with me posting some new posts. :)

For a start I could do an introducing and what I am going to write about. So let's get cracking!

My name is Petra, and I named my blog Along With Petra where I will post mostly about beauty and fashion. But do expect more crazy things from me! Yowzah! :)

So as I am writing this, I have Lush's Mask of Magnaminty on my face ( I look like a Shrek...or Hulk?) I love this stuff because it clears my skin from everything I don't want to have there. I think it's time to take it off. So see you at my first official post. Soon!

With Love,

Petra.
